What a strange day in the World of http://www.simplyfreeiphone.co.uk !
Everything has been going really well. The site has been ranking in top spot for the search term "free iPhone" and is the page that loads on "Are you feeling lucky" (reminds me of Dirty Harry but that is another story!).
I am a bit obsessive and constantly check rankings. Still top on Google for "Web" search. Nice, another free iPhone coming my way soon......but hang on, do the UK only search and I am half way down the front page.
Why you little.....I'd have gotten away with it if it wasn't for those pesky kids!
All joking apart, this makes no sense to me. I am an accountant by trade, not a web master and to get to the top of rankings on any term was more luck than judgement, or trial and error more like. The domain is .co.uk, so why would I rank better on "Web" than "UK only".
Two things spring to mind.
I have been promoting a specific html file in the free iPhone directory, http://www.simplyfreeiphone.co.uk/freemacbookairnews.html - that was near the top in "free macbook air" searches until today and has no vanished. Maybe not coincidental?
Secondly, I added AdSense to my site on Friday.
I can only speculate because to be honest, I have no idea what is going on in the ranking world of free iPhone. I only hope that http://www.simplyfreeiphone.co.uk returns to the top of the UK rankings pretty soon!
